旅館のカテゴリがまだ存在しないにもかかわらず、わざわざ旅館の中のある特定の建物だけに特化したカテゴリが作られました。いったん旅館そのもののカテゴリを作成し、そちらにリダイレクトさせていただきましたが、たった４枚しか画像がないのに旅館のカテゴリすら作らないままわざわざ特定の建物に特化したカテゴリを作成するのも不可解ですし、それを長湯温泉のカテゴリの配下に紐づけたのもおかしいでしょう。この建物はあくまで旅館の一部なのですから。旅館のカテゴリを長湯温泉のカテゴリの配下に紐づけるならわかりますが。

建物に関する画像が増えてきたら旅館のカテゴリから建物に関するカテゴリを独立させてもいいと思いますが、単なる建物のカテゴリだけいきなり作成してそれを温泉のカテゴリの配下に直接紐づけるというのはやはりおかしいでしょう。この建物は何のための建物でどこの旅館の一部なのかをちゃんと調査してからカテゴリを作ったのか疑問です。--Japaneseviewtifullsaitoshiingu (talk) 03:15, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

Yes I did not investigate the building. I made the category strictly based on the fact that four images existed clearly labelled as Lamune Onsenkan of the same building.

On wikimedia commons we tend to be a bit more granular with our categorizations. So I thought your category merge meant that they were the same thing, and you forgot to merge them on wikidata. Apologies for that.

I think File:Lamune Onsen.jpg might be better renamed to something like File:Daimaru Ryokan.jpg, because it appears to but the rest of them are clearly focused on Lamune Onsenkan, but I am not sure where the boundaries of the building end.

It could be a good way of running things to have Category:Daimaru Ryokan (Taketa) not containing any files and just having Category:Lamune Onsenkan and Category:People_of_Daimaru_Ryokan_(Taketa).

I scratch my suggestion of renaming File:Lamune Onsen.jpg the complexes are not even connected, that entire thing is Lamune Onsen. So this categorization is even more misleading. Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (please tag me) 21:11, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
